Buying or selling a car privately can feel a bit, well... sketchy. After all, exchanging cash in a parking lot with a stranger isn't the most appealing thing in the world. Fortunately, the CarGurus Pay product solves for that - and makes buying or selling a car yourself easier - with secure payment, identity verification, and paperwork assistance.
My design partner, Andy Huff, and I honed in on this notion of security by contrasting it with something almost as sketchy as exchanging cash in a parking lot. That "something" was rented bowling shoes. We all wear them, and we all regret it.
I wrote the scripts, Andy storyboarded them, a production company filmed the ads with our oversight, our product marketer handled pixel implementation, and our consumer insights team provided the core insight driving the entire campaign. All in all, this was a fantastic cross-functional effort!
